Frequently Asked Questions
What does this application do?
Displart helps artists build and manage a portfolio website from one workspace. You can add artworks, upload images, organize content, manage language versions, choose a website design, and publish a public-facing portfolio.
Who is this platform best suited for?
It is built for artists and other creatives who want a focused portfolio-management tool rather than a general-purpose website builder. It is especially useful if you want to keep your catalogue, biography, and website presentation in one place, and present them in different languages.
Can I use it as a private database of my works?
Absolutely. You can keep your artworks private and use Displart as a personal database for documenting, organizing, and managing your work, even if you are not ready to publish a public portfolio. You can access your portfolio from anywhere and publish it when you feel ready.
Do I need coding skills to use it?
No. The application is designed so artists can manage their portfolio through forms and guided pages instead of writing code or dealing with web design details. You can update your public profile, artwork details, and website settings directly in the app, and choose one of our templates for your website design.
How much does it cost?
Displart includes a free plan so you can try the system and decide whether it fits your needs. The free plan is limited to 10 artworks. If you want to build a larger artwork portfolio, you can choose a paid plan with a higher artwork capacity. See the pricing section for current plan options.
Can I publish my portfolio in more than one language?
Yes. When you create your portfolio, you choose a main language. This is the language you use for your original content, such as your biography and artwork descriptions. You can then select additional languages and use our AI-assisted features to translate your content automatically. Displart currently supports English, German, French, Spanish, Turkish, Greek, and Japanese. New languages will be added based on market demand.
Can I sell my artworks online?
Not directly through our platform. You can list a price for each artwork and indicate whether it is for sale. Interested art lovers can use the contact form to get in touch with you, so you can handle payment and shipment details directly.
How do I add artworks?
Inside your workspace, you can create artwork records with details such as title, artist name, description, production date, medium, and public visibility. You can also upload one or more images for each artwork so the work is ready for your website presentation.
Can I keep some artworks private?
Yes. Artwork visibility can be managed inside the app, so you can decide which works appear on the public website and which ones stay private while you are still preparing them.
What is the public profile for?
The public profile is the artist introduction area of your website. It lets you present a tagline, biography-style description, profile image, social links, and other public-facing details that visitors can see.
Can I show or hide the contact page?
Yes. The public-profile settings include controls for whether your public profile is visible and whether the contact page is shown on your website. This is particularly useful if you have a main website and using Displart only to manage your catalogue.
Can I change the design of my website later?
Yes. The application supports multiple website templates, so you can switch the public style without having to rebuild your artwork catalogue or rewrite anything.
What does website status mean?
Website status controls how your public website is presented. A portfolio can be published i.e. vivible to public, under construction, or offline, which helps you decide whether visitors should see a live site or a temporary holding state while you are still preparing content.
Does the app help with writing artwork text?
Yes. The app includes AI-assisted tools that can help generate or improve artwork descriptions and support translation workflows. These tools are designed to save time, but you should still review the results to make sure they match your voice and your work accurately.
Can I buy a custom domain?
The platform is built to support domain-related services. Domain registration and related processes may involve third-party providers, and the exact setup can depend on the plan and service configuration. Contact our support team from your Portfolio Manager or details.
How does pricing work?
Plans are presented on the website with annual pricing. Pricing can be shown in the visitor's likely local currency when available, with fallback handling when local pricing is not configured.
Is payment handled inside the app?
Payments are handled through hosted checkout flows so billing can be completed securely through the payment provider rather than by manually entering card details into the application itself.
Can I contact support if I get stuck?
Yes. Account holders can use the in-app support form to report a problem, ask a question, or send a suggestion to the support team.
Subscriptions and renewals
How do I update my payment method?
Open the Subscriptions page and choose Manage on your current paid plan. In the popup, select Manage Payment Method. You will be taken to a secure Stripe-hosted page where you can add or update the payment method used for future subscription renewals.
How do I cancel my subscription?
Open the Subscriptions page, choose Manage on your current plan, and change renewal to No. Your current plan stays active until the end of the paid period, and you will not be charged for the next period.
How can I downgrade my plan?
If a lower plan is available for your portfolio, you will see a Downgrade button on that plan. When you confirm the downgrade, your current plan stays active until the end of the current paid period, and the selected plan is scheduled to start in the next period.
What happens to the unused part of my current plan if I upgrade?
When you upgrade, Stripe calculates how much time remains in your current paid period. The unused value of your current plan is applied proportionally against the first period of the upgraded plan, so you only pay the difference that is due at the time of upgrade.
Why are some plans marked Not Available?
A plan can be unavailable for a few reasons. The most common reason is capacity: if the plan allows fewer artworks than your portfolio currently contains, you cannot move to that plan. Plans can also be unavailable when your current plan already has a scheduled cancellation or downgrade. In that case, use Manage on your current plan to keep it active first. After the scheduled change is cancelled, you can choose another available upgrade or downgrade.
How can I remove the “Powered by displart.com” link from the footer?
The footer credit is shown only on free plans. It is removed automatically when you move to a paid plan, so no separate setting is needed.
